Tallit

There is one custom woman's tallit available on the "Buy it Now" page.

"Thou shalt make thee twisted cords upon the four corners of thy coverings, wherewith thou coverest thyself." (Deuteronomy 22:12)

Commissioning a Custom Tallit:

Each tallit I make is one-of-a-kind and made of silk, lightweight wool crepe or another suitable fabric.  The process begins with a client's vision and we work together over time to bring our combined ideas together.  Some decisions are made quickly; others take more time.

I have thousands of embroidery designs in inventory and, if necessary, I can have your custom artwork digitized for embroidery.  Additional fees will apply but I will give you the quote before any work is done.  Once the design, fabrics and cost have been agreed upon, I will prepare a color drawing to show the layout of the elements.  A 50% deposit will be required before I purchase fabrics and trims.

If you are considering a custom tallit, please allow a minimum of 6-8 weeks as I often have many projects going at one time.

I get many inquiries asking for the price of a tallit.  It is impossible to quote without knowing what the fabric, style or complexity of the finished garment will be.  However, most of my tallitot are pieced silk and there is a great deal of labor involved.   My minimum price is $200.

Traditional Hebrew blessing for putting on a tallit:

Transliteration (if you don't read Hebrew):
Ba-ruch  a-ta  A-do-nai  e-lo-hey-nu  me-lech  ha-o-lam  a-sher  kid-sha-nu b'mitz-vo-tav  v'tzi-va-nu  l'hi-ta-tayf  ba-tzi-tzit

Blessed are you, Lord our God, Ruler of the Universe, who has sanctified us with God's commandments and commanded us to wrap ourselves in fringes.
