Tallitot (plural for tallit)

"Thou shalt make thee twisted cords upon the four corners of thy coverings, wherewith thou coverest thyself." (Deuteronomy 22:12)

Commissioning a Custom Tallit:

Each tallit I make is one-of-a-kind and made of silk, lightweight wool crepe or another suitable fabric.  The process begins with a client's vision and we work together over time to bring our combined ideas together.  Some decisions are made quickly; others take more time.

I have thousands of embroidery designs in inventory and, if necessary, I can have your custom artwork digitized for embroidery.  Additional fees will apply but I will give you the quote before any work is done.  If you are searching for a particular design, feel free to visit this website where you can search by category or key word.  http://www.embroideryisland.com  If you find something you like, jot down the design number and I'll purchase it for you.  Once the design, fabrics and cost have been agreed upon, I will prepare a color drawing to show the layout of the elements.  A 50% deposit will be required before I purchase fabrics and trims.

If you are considering a custom tallit, please allow a minimum of 6-8 weeks as I often have many projects going at one time.

I get many inquiries asking for the price of a tallit.  It is impossible to quote without knowing what the fabric, style or complexity of the finished garment will be.  However, most of my tallitot are pieced silk and there is a great deal of labor involved.   My minimum price is $200.

Traditional Hebrew blessing for putting on a tallit:

Blessed are you, Lord our God, Ruler of the Universe, who has sanctified us
with God's commandments and commanded us to wrap ourselves in fringes.
